Titi Aur Building

The Titi Aur Academy today gathers under one roof, a school of defensive driving and piloting, an Autodrome and a Centre for Research and Development.

The complex offered at the Academia Titi Aur offers through several simulators a large diversity of environmental conditions to experiment an automobile’s components and equipments for both control and security on a Research and Development perspective. Titi Aur Academy offers the most complete and complex Autodrome in Romania. With an asphalt runway of 1.2 km, which blends in harmoniously with another macadam 1.2 km, Titi Aur Academy has an area of ​​12.5 hectares.

Aquaplaning simulator and driving in unfavorable weather conditions

This device is researching the best solution for efficiency in case of aquaplaning, including the proper method of reaction of the driver.

The simulator aims to promote new methodological principles of defensive driving by testing how drivers react in case a vehicle committed unprovoked slippage (over steer).

Earth, macadam, gravel, mud, with bumps, steep slope and areas with jumps separation

The simulator is intended for carrying out R & D activities for traffic situations in off-road conditions in order to test different equipment with tires, suspension, differential settings and effective methods to drive such vehicles in terms of road gravel.

Braking – avoiding pedestrian obstacles simulator with irrigated zone

This simulator has areas irrigated with water and can experiment to identify the best solution for vehicle equipment and correct reaction of the driver, where the vehicle is obliged to prevent and avoid getting in contact with the devices, especially for the evolution of active safety systems (ABS, ESP, CT, etc.).

Controlled sideslip simulator with mobile platform

The simulator is intended for carrying out applied research and development activities, and it is built around a unique device in the world, in order to test / investigate efficient vehicle with various accessories (tires, suspension, system settings steering, distribution of mass in the machine and machine control methods).

Frontal impact simulator

Simulator aims to promote new methodological principles of defensive driving (by testing reaction / awareness of drivers in a frontal collision situation with fixed obstacle at varying speeds, e.g. 12/15/20 km / h), and in which the testing of functional parameters of various automotive components also occurs (ex.: seat belts, windshield, doors, airbags etc.) if a motor vehicle has a frontal impact in the context of complex traffic situations.

Going over and under bridge simulator from steep to small incline slope

The simulator is used for research and development activities involving drivers of heavy and high vehicles (lorries, coaches, buses). With the simulator can be tested the correct positioning of the driver and has observation devices (mirrors, cameras) in order to reach the best solution, both for technical equipment, and for perfecting the skills of drivers.

The simulator is intended for research and development activities which would facilitate the testing of vehicle’s efficiency having different equipment variants (suspension, tires, setting convergence etc.), in a turn (cornering) with different adherence, with different levels of humidity on the aquaplaning area and with sudden shifts from one adherence to another.

The simulator is intended to develop activities of Research & Development to simulate situations encountered in traffic with corners angled inward or toward the outside edge, with areas irrigated.

The simulator is used for computer simulation, in real time, to observe drivers’ behaviour through the parameterization of specific traffic situations based on simulation scenarios developed by researchers.
The simulator is unique in Romania.

Obstacle avoidance simulator with possibilities of modifying the chicanes, adherence, bumps on the right line and turn

The simulator is intended for performing the activities of applied research and development, being composed of several areas defined by milestones, irrigated or with sand-gravel deposits, testing various special situations with different vehicles and different equipment.

Rollover simulator

The simulator aims to promote new methodological principles of defensive driving (by testing the reaction of drivers when the vehicle rollover at 90 or 180 degrees), and in which the testing of functional parameters of various automotive components also occurs (ex: seat belts, windshield, doors, airbags etc.) if a vehicle is overturning in the context of complex traffic situations.

Steering wheel and hands circulation simulator

The simulator is intended for carrying out applied research and development activities and aims to promote new methodological principles of defensive driving by testing how drivers adjusts their position to the driving position in order to obtain better visibility, reduce risk of injury in case of impact and react in a limited amount of time.
